Mrs. Sharon B. Duncan, a native Washingtonian, is an expert business manager who has worked with the private sector and with Federal, State and foreign governments.    She earned a BA degree in Economics from Barnard College, Columbia University and a MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  Mrs. Duncan is a diverse business manager who has implemented and managed operational units, information systems, projects, and products through the use of strategic and tactical planning, budget and process management, risk and controls management, and exceptional personnel management.  She has been employed with Ernst &Young, International Business Services, XEBEC Systems and BCE Emerges.  Mrs. Duncan recently retired as a Compliance Director with Freddie Mac after 25 years on their corporate management team.

 

Mrs. Duncan’s expertise in process design and development propelled her into her first and most successful patent, the Shoe Size Scanner System (2002), which was patented in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.  These patents were sold and the resulting system can be found in various retail stores throughout the country, such as Macy’s,   In 2002 Mrs. Duncan founded Duncan Technology Solutions, LLC to continue her work with patents.  Other patents obtained include the Vertical Utensil Holder (2005) and the Compact Carrier (2006).  A patent application for a Hands Free Holder was also filed in 2004.
