Celebrating BLACK EXCELLENCE all year!

Join us in our efforts to highlight Black innovators, creatives and community influencers throughout the year. As a community museum we are committed to creating spaces and promoting platforms where social, cultural and historical Black accomplishments are celebrated. We bring to you curated content, programs and resources that present and highlight Black excellence. Prince George’s African American Museum and Cultural Center invites audiences to share knowledge, partner with us, and enjoy our exclusive programs.

More Than a Month affirms and supports all that we do and all we have done.

Local Black Innovators

PGAAMCC’s past exhibition Patented Ingenuity: The Art of African American Inventors  features the art of African American Inventors patent drawings. Our collection holds over 600 patent documents donated by historian Patricia Sluby. Through our More Than a Month campaign we celebrate the ingenuity of African American Inventors.

Black Creatives

We highlight local artists and creatives that have made major contributions to Black creative culture and whose mission is to represent the diversity of the Black community through empowering and educational content.

Local Community Influencers and Leaders

As a community center we recognize the work of cultural centers, organizations and businesses whose mission is also to present and promote the richness of Black culture.
