155 years ago on November 1, 1864, ensalved Africans in Maryland were freed by a state emancipation law. To commemorate this important date in our people’s freedom journey, PGAAMCC launches discounts for membership during th mother of November offering benefits for champions of arts, history, culture and community like you!

Your membership supports our exhibitions, youth, and public programs that promotes education and community building. Your support through membership and donations allows us to continue this important work.

All memberships and donations are tax deductible under law. Memberships are for one calendar year from the date of purchase!

With your help we continue to amplify the significance of historically Black communities (Exhibits: Footsteps of North Brentwood/ A Space of Their Own/ Chocolate Cities); Discover archives, preservation tips and history in the making (Community Treasure Chest oral history project); Embody a platform for lifelong learning on the contributions of the African diaspora (Sunday Scholar Brunch, Adult education). Most of all, you help to sustain the legacy of Prince George’s County, Maryland as a thriving hub for African American determination and upward mobility, through cultural arts programs and public history initiatives.
