Momentum: Sculptures by Huey Gaddy is Prince George’s African American Museum’s newest exhibition and the first to exclusively feature sculpture. All of the works in the exhibition were created by metal artist, fabricator, and Prince George’s County resident, Huey Gaddy.

Originally from Apex North Carolina, Huey Gaddy moved to New Haven Connecticut and began working for Lippincott Company, a company that fabricated large scale sculptures for artist. While working for Lippincott, Gaddy worked with such

renowned artist as Clause Oldenburg, James Rosati, Robert Indiana, Keith Haring and many others. Working with these artists shaped his personal style as he began creating his own work. His signature style is large abstract pieces that emphasize curve and motion. This is the first time Gaddy’s work has been shown as an exhibition in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

Programs from the exhibition include lectures, workshops, and tours of the exhibition featuring the artist.
